Mi fiance is new to roading and looking for a good starter bike. I'm also new and looking at a new Jamis Ventura for myself at $650 us dollars. We need some good suggestions for $550 to $700 range. Thanks :)

Fuji women's bikes at your price range are well designed and specced, esp the smaller sizes.
How tall is your fiance. Many taller women dont need to get a special women's bike.

WE picked my wife up a Specialized Sequoia, and she loves it.. I think it was about $700 out the door... she's 5'8", and tried a couple women's specific frames, but non felt right.. the Specialized seems to fit pretty well... and as everyone will tell you here... if it doesn;t fit right, she'll never ride it

If it´s for a short person don´t forget to look at 26 inch wheel options , it limits the tyre choice a bit ( ? ) but could work better than a reduced frame with 27 wheels , also consider sloping frames as thse tend to give better distances for the head bearings .
