Mountain Biking - does this exist

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i cant find one
i need one this winter for a build for next season
price is no object... i may just have indy fab make me one if i cant find another

Ah-ha! I think I know what you're up to. If you get a Schlumpf Mountain Drive instead, you don't need the ISCG tabs and it shifts with a kick of your heel ;)

I've used one - it doesn't slip. And even if it did, it seems like a better alternative than ripping the tabs off the frame.

i've used them too... they slip. i dont trust them. for what i need it for, there will be torque on that... i can have it move a milimeter. i'm not here to argue tho.. i just want to know if a frame liek this exists already, i've been looking and if i want an independent i need to order it soon. but i'd rather not blow that much money without looking for a slightly cheaper alternative first... this project is already starting to add up.

Ya, Schlumpf is probably not robust enough for what you have up your sleeve.

Is that frame made out of Play-Dough? Looks like something my 4 year old niece made.
Is that frame made out of Play-Dough? Looks like something my 4 year old niece made. It's cobby to be sure - - but I like to think that's in a kind-of '60s British/Euro/Soviet Bloc MX bike kind of way. If you could see Alex's creations up-close and realized care involved and the behind-the -scenes machining required (for the tubing molds, etc.), it might surprise you.

Oh nothing, don't mind me.
Have you considered a chromoly frame with a slotted dropout (like an On-One Inbred or Redline Monocog) and then you could have the adapter that Gastro posted brazed to the bottom bracket to prevent slipping. Either of those frames can be had cheap, I have seen the Redline with a rigid fork for less than 250.

good i wont mind you! i just think a mrp guide system would be pimp on a single speed 49er!!!
and yes i have that about somethign like that... the jamis exile for 08 looks liek a pretty decent frame... a friend of mine has the 07 and it doesnt ride too bad.. thre rear end is a tad long tho ( i like to manual a bit )
i'm waiting to hear back from independent hopefully tomorrow
It's too bad the Sinister Simon Bar doesn't have ISCG tabs - - looks like it might be right up your alley. One of the Sinister guys is a poster over on RM. Might be able to ask if they have any plans to produce a few.
