I've got two "gary fisher" lights same model (I can't find any model or manufacturer info on the light) 3-light led which has a "clicker" on/off/flash on the top. They're several years old, and have worked well up till a month or so ago.

When I'm riding and hit the slightest bump in the road, the light turns off. I then have to click it back on again. Yesterday I went and bought a brand new front light (new, different PB brand light) because it has become almost unusable. Hitting a bump _never_ results the light going on, only off.

Any reasons why this would happen? I can't figure it out. I know, blinkies are cheap, but I'd still like to know if anyone has any thoughts and/or remedies for this.

thanks,

Are the battery contacts loose? I would suspect that or some corrosion somewhere in the battery or switch contacts.

Edit: I may have misread your question. Is the switch reverting to the off position when you hit the bump?

It sounds like battery contacts to me. If i'm reading it right the switch is just a pushbutton. Push it once for on, again for flash and again for off. The switch is actually just a momentary button which sends a pulse to cycle the electronics... blah blah blah... battery contacts.

Hmmm. never thought about that. I'll double check the contacts. last time I checked (3 weeks ago when I put new batteries in) they looked Ok to me. but I didn't really inspect them. I'll check them again when I get back.
