Fifty Plus (50+) - Off the trail..or BluesDawg heaven.

I suspect that BluesDawg and Stapfam would be in Dawg heaven here. Frankly, there are parts of this road that are over my head. The combination of surface and grade just wear me down. I took a hike down there today to take these pictures and to see if the trail was dry enough to be passable. For large parts of the year, this is mud. Right now its just damp enough so that the sandy parts are compacted, not deep and soft. When I have the bike with me, I rarely complete this ride without some walking. Its about 1 mile in length, 1/2 down about 200 feet and 1/2 back up.

That's definitely full suspension territory. You could ride it on a hardtail or a rigid, but it would get old mighty fast.

Hills like this on trails like this are made for climbing- And I would rather do that on a hardtail any day. Coming down could be tricky with those rocks- So Send BD down a few times to clear the trail and It would make a good ride.

That looks like fun! I'd probably be walking right next to you MM, but it still looks fun. My poor MTB hasn't been out in the fresh air in over a year.

That's what I thought until I rode my Stumpjumper. Modern full suspension bikes with propedal valving or similar do not exibit the pogoing you love to talk about. I could climb the hill in maddmaxx's photo much easier and faster on my full suspension bike than I ever could have with my hardtail. Do yourself a favor and ride a FS bike with a good rear shock and suspension design. You'll change your tune.

I have found such a bike- A Whyte 46 and that one worked. Unfortunately- the wallet wasn't big enough

Nice, but you don't have to go to such extremes to find a FS bike that climbs well.
