Does anyone know the status of the trail where it passes under I-88? They are working on the bridge.
Thanks in advance.
I haven't ridden in that area since June 7, but the trail was open under the bridge. There were fences up to keep people out of the construction area.
Of more concern was the section of the trail north of downtown Aurora, which was under construction at that time. The signs said it should have been completed in early May, but they were still working on it on June 7. It was pretty rough (coarse gravel). You could detour around it on some streets.

I was there on Saturday, and it's much the same as described above. There are fences to keep you out of the construction areas, but the trail is open to use.

I work extremely close to there and while I cut off the trail just North of there (1 block) a few guys said you can get through, but on the days you can't you can just take some surface streets both sides of 31 there on the West side of the river to get through the area.

I go thru there twice a day, every day!

Even if it was closed, just go up the hill, turn on Rt31, cross the bridge, and go back down at the first opportunity. No problem.
It is wide open - unless they are setting those big pre cast beams - which are all done.

Wouldn't you know it _ I tried to go thru there yesterday, and it was closed while they were repairing blacktop on the path. It's back open now. Even if the signs are still up.
However, I did take a few minutes to clear a path back to the MUP from the rear of Alden Care Assisted Living rear parking lot. (It used to be a Holiday Inn)
From the north, go up the hill where they place the north closed sign, go across the tollroad bridge, and go in Alden Care's entrance. Gp around the building, and down the ramp behind the building. Look for the white fencepost along the tree line. It's right next to the path.
From the south, ignore the path closed sign, and keep going south. About 100-200 yards south of the bridge, you will see a path about 5' wide going up to the same lot. There is a blue spruce tree that looks like it's blocking the path on the west end - it's not. Short and easy. Just go around the buildings until you get up to Rt31.
At the MUP, I also marked it with a couple small branches on the ground, leading into it. You can't miss the little path, as it's the only cleared spot thru the trees. It used to be a walking path connected to the MUP when the motel was there.
