Tandem Cycling - Map Resources

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have plenty of time to plan , but looking for some input/resources with bike trail/road maps. I am thinking of riding from Grand Rapids, MI up to Ludington, taking the Bager across Lake Michigan to Manitowac, then biking down down to Milwaulkee to take the Lake Express back across Lake Michigan into Muskegon. Can anyone help me with maps or routes on the Wisconsin side of the lake. Will also need a campground 20 miles or so south of Manitowac. This is a father/son (9 yr old) trip. Self contained with the Bob Yak carrying our gear. Thanks...

I had thought of suggesting that, but the key piece OP is requesting is information running N/S parallel to lake Michigan in Wisconsin. Adventure Cycling only has an east-west segment near the area they are interested in.

There's a wealth of information at AC regarding Wisconsin that can be found by doing a simple search of their site for 'Wisconsin', e.g., http://www.adventurecycling.org/cyp/list.cfm?s=Wisconsin&f=lState
While the canned AC route maps may not have any suggestions, perhaps one of the other resources listed in their Yellow Pages will...
I would have ignored the thread all together but seeing nearly 50 folks had viewed with zero feedback I felt compelled to offer up something....

Wow. I hadn't got that far into their site. There's a lot there in Wisconsin. And I imagine many other places too... This will be useful in future.:)
