Here is what I know - Big Bend is supposed to be breath taking

Here is what I've been told - they have no mountain bike trails

So the only cycling to be done is on the road, considering the population that might be just fine.

Who has ridden there and what can you tell us?

Chris

As I recall, on the hiking trails I went on, they were not mountain bike trails, too.

One thing you might want to look up, though, is the backcountry roads:

the mtn biking is excellent there --- cross country style. there is no singletrack, only jeep roads. take lots of supplies. you'll see very few 4x4's and no cyclists (i've been there thrice during the month of march). i walked down many steep and dangerous sections (that i would usually enjoy riding) due to the remoteness.

big bend ranch state park has singletrack. also, there's nice trails in and around the airport. for advice, seek the very helpful assistance of the nices folks at: http://www.desertsportstx.com/index.php
