Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Banned for linking to a rickroll website -- why?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For some odd reason, I like to read the "Banned Users" thread. Maybe because it's kind of like reading a police log in a small town newspaper or maybe I just can't get enough of the term "sockpuppet".
Anyway, dumb, but serious question: why do people get banned for linking to rickroll websites?

There is a malicious Rick Roll site out there. I pops up a little half size popup the jumps around the screen and the only 2 ways to close it down are either the task manager, or a reboot if it locks up your computer.

It won't die. It just won't die. If you are being bad at work and sneaking onto here, you have to shut down your computer to get rid of it. And say goodbye to whatever work project you were "working" on.....

Ah, OK, that could be a bit infuriating/bothersome. Thanks for the explanation and helping to keep us safe! Die Rick Roll, die.
