Hi People,

I recently moved to Japan, I'm an ex-roadracer, and I've been seduced into buying a track bike. Sounds wonderful, yes, but now I am coming up against a brick wall trying to get said track bike on a track. Anyone have any tips for me? I've never been on a track, but I'm way keen to give it a shot, and I'd love to take advantages of the many beautiful keirin stadiums in the area.

I'm in the greater Tokyo area.

Thanks all!

PM bf user Tomity. He refers to himself as "Keirin Ambassador." He is a keirin racer and may be willing to show other riders around.

my understanding is that the keirin tracks are only open to amateurs very rarely

If you look further down this page I think tomitys thread lists amateur tracks

Thanks all, Tomity hooked me up with the necessary info! My local stadium has bi-monthly open traning and practice race days, and I would suspect this is general at most keirin-jo's.

If anyone is in a similar situation and has questions, hit me. Though going straight to Tomity is what worked for me.

Thanks again.
