Road Cycling - Fondriest

Does anyone ride a Fondriest?
I'm really interested in the Carb Level or Domino frames, so please write some feedback if you can.

I was riding a C40 last weekend and a friend was riding his top of the line aluminium Fondriest. We swapped for about 15 miles. The ride was impeccable, just like the C40. I think all the top end Italian frames ride well. Another friend works at Cobblestone bikes in Richmond, VA, who sells Fondriests. That's a plug for them.

Where's our friend cane/enac? :)

I picked up an 03 Carb Level from Fondriest Direct for 1300 (Normal retail approx 2700). Built it up with Campy Chorus, Thomson Seat Post and Stem, OP rims.

I am waaay impressed with the ride of this bike. My previous steed was a Serotta Colorado II and I much prefer the ride of the Fondriest. Maybe its the carbon seat stays, maybe the carbon fork, I don't know but, it works!

The steering is very quick and takes some getting used to. But it is very stable through the corners.

Did I say it was light? People say you can't tell the difference. Well, I sure can. I didn't relize how bad my pedal stroke was till I rode it for the first time. It's hard to describe but it felt like a series of lunges on every down stroke with the pedals. That's something I never felt with the Serotta.

Fit and finish is also top notch.

I ride a top level....and as MtnMan stated....I too and way impressed!!....responsive and rigid for good power transfer, sprinting, and climbing....handles great and is surprisingly comfortable too....I love mine!

I've seen a few older (2003?) Fondriest Carb Level Plus frames for sale. I have a full aluminum (Italian) bike so I'm wondering how much different the ride would be going to aluminum with carbon stays (seat and chain)? I've read good things about the Carb bikes overall.
