Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Shall we spit into the wind? Wonder if any Houston/Galveston folk'll join up?

What the heck happened on this ride. Whose brilliant idea was it to ride through the 6th St. entertainment district at 2 am, just as the bars were closing. I understand it was mass chaos. This was supposed to be a leisurely fun ride. But apparently it turned into a Critical Mass ride.

I've got small children so I didn't make it, but ATXBS had a a brief write up with pictures here: http://atxbs.com/?q=node/396
There was also a fuller account here: http://brianmcgloin.wordpress.com/2008/09/14/moonlight-cruze-austin/

I went, had a good time. 99+% of the people were great and there to have a good time..there were 2 I noticed who weren't and wanted trouble. Tons of people, thought the route was just fine. I especially enjoyed the ride back down Lamar with just my buddy. Only one other car on the road in the 5+ miles.
To the dude with the License plate: self edited

A cop once told me that at 2 am there are only 2 types of people on the road; potential victims and potential inmates. Sounds like there were plenty of both.
