I am looking at upgrading my current bike (re: other posts) but I don't want to rush into purchases. I want to take the time to test various bike geometries, frame materials, etc.

If I was to wait until summer to purchase the new bikes, will I run into an availability problem or can most shops special order from the manufacturer? One of the shops that I went to said I should buy it within the next month due to availability....

Thanks!

Puh-leeze! You better buy right now. They don't make bikes anymore!

Of course, more people run out and buy bikes in the spring. Cars, boats, and houses too. But, there will be pleanty around. You might even find that bigger stores stock up a bit and you have more to choose from. The only reason to buy right now is if you are looking for an 03 model.

Don't let anyone rush you. It is a big decision and it needs to be right.
