I was thinking the other day, that a battery pack on a bicycle sure opens up alot of possibilities for ad-ons.

Tonight, I bought a big rig horn for my Izip at canadian tire. Its rated for 132 decibels at 12V. It only costed me $20 so I'm just going to hook it up to 24V and not worry about if it can handle it.

The other day, I almost got right hooked by a driver that doesn't realize what he did, I'd like to get their attention when they screw up like that,

I have a bicycle bell, I'll use on pedestrians. a car horn is too obnoxious for them, perhaps

Any other ideas that you goes have thought about or tried?

I've though about signal and brake lights. stereo, and a wind fairing. Am I bordering on blasphemy with ideas like this? LOL

You will lose your hearing. Don't.

When I asked the manager/owner at the bike shop for something that could be heard within a car, he said, "Oh, they can't hear anything inside their cars." So far, I haven't found anything that could blast a motorist into awareness. Maybe working on high visibility will get you more safety.

Of course, you could also check out some of the radical/ angry bicycling dudes on commuting or A & S, who will smack the side of a car with a U-lock to get attention...

I agree with the visibility approach. I am definitely going to work on that.

Currently I'm wearing a construction workers vest ( blaze orange with neon yellow stripes), I have a blinker LED attached to the back of my helmet, and I've added 6 feet of reflective tape to my frame.

My beleclava that I'll be wearing this winter is blaze orange. If I buy any clothes in the future, I'll choose bright colors hopefully ones specifically designed for visibility.

A laser or a locomotive horn would be sweet. It's way easier to avoid dead people than live ones.
