Without fail, it always seems that every time I buy a new light for my bike, I invariably stare into it the first time I turn it on. It happened first with the PB Superflash, and I was amazed with how bright that was. Today I got my Ultrafire C3 Cree Q5 5-Mode LED Flashlight with Extension from Deal Extreme, and again, without fail, I attempted to blind myself.

Fair warning, go with a small sample first, and then if so inclined, slowly increase the exposure. Seeing spots isn't as much fun as the cartoons would have you believe.

I did that when my P7 got here. These things make good self-defense and tactical lights.

ha, just go 2 of these for the bike and of course looked right in the light and got spots for a few minutes.

BTW, great bike light and over 1 hour run time, great for commutes. I'm sure at some point I'll start a thread with pics.

I've learned to not lean too far in front of my handlebars (when my light is on) when I'm slouching over my handlebar at a stoplight or want to pinch my front tire to check if it's losing air. I've leaned too far in the past and gotten an eyeful of light .

When I want to look at the light, I reflect it off of a dark surface, like my TV or laptop screen.
