Mountain Biking - allow myself to introduce...... myself

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey all, just wanted to say hi. I just joined your forum and so far it looks pretty good. I ride a '99 Rockhopper, all stock except for a Manitou SX-R fork. I used to race at the collegiate level in Colorado and now that I've been living around Chicago for a couple years I need to get back into recreational riding and back into shape. Hopefully you can all help me find some good daytrip-type places to go around the area. thanks

Lots of riders here from Chi-Town. Not me though, I'm way far away!

Welcome anyways!

i used to live in chicago(philadelphia now), and despite most of the terrain being possibly the flattest anywhere ever, there is a really good area for mountain biking. i havn't been there in about 8 years though, so i'm not sure if it's still good or even there or legal or whatever. it's either near or in palos heights. there's a big tobaggon run down there. it's just off rt 83, i think near 115th street or something? again, sorry, i havn't been there in 8 years but i used to go each weekend. some great singltrack. you should definitely ask around if you like riding pretty technical singletrack. good luck.
