Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I reckon keep your cool and take thanks to the free roads we have and try not to attract too much attention because we'll all pay for it. I just cant understand how these guys can block roads to prove a point. This will bring about more crap than cars already give cyclists. Dont push your luck......keep pushin pedal and mind your own business without creating a new business of bike reg or some other cost to use roads!
Actually, the roads aren't free -- unless you've found a way to avoid paying income tax and GST. In fact, given the level of fuel subsidies in this country, one has to ask exactly why cyclists are expected to subsidise motorists so heavily.
Motorist seeing such antics may resort to bowling cyclists over somewhere down the track that have nothing to do with these sorts of behaviour.
Motorists do that already up here, and there is no critical mass on the Gold Coast, nor has there ever been one. I don't think this criminal action is a result of critical mass, nor is it justified by it.
Overall, however, I concur with the gist of your post, CM is pretty pointless, and does little to sell the idea of cycling.
