So I bought the Park PCS-1 stand and honestly, it's a lot nicer than I expected. More solid and stable and it just feels of better quality than I thought a relatively inexpensive "consumer" stand would be.

Here's my problem. In order to mount my Trek 5500 by the seat post, I have to raise the seat so the clamp will fit. Is there a QR set up for the seatpost clamp that might make this a bit more efficient? Or something else? Or should I not really be concerned about all the anticipated tightening and releasing?

its a pain in the ass. i would think the constant tightening an loosening wouldnt be great.

You won't be hoisting your Trek in and out of the stand enough to warrant putting a Q/R for the seat post. Mark your seat post with a Sharpie or electrical tape as to it's proper position, then raise it so you can clamp it in the stand. When you're done, lower the post to the mark you've made. Simple.

I mark the seatpost with masking tape before I raise it. I don't think it takes any more time to loosen an allen screw than it does to loosen a QR.
