Recreational & Family - trailabike with front hub QR for trailing a full bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I saw this while out riding around, and didn't get a chance to ask the rider about it, but it looked awesome.
From far away, it looked like a normal trailabike which hooks onto the front/adult seatpost. A large arm comes down from there, but instead of ending in handlbars and the back end of a 20 inch bike, it ended in a QR hub type configuration. It also had a place to hold a (what i first thought was a spare) wheel.
Upon closer inspection, the bike in the back was a complete kid's bike--16 or 20 inches, i can't recall. The connection between the two bikes was via the front fork of the kid's bike, and the end of the arm of the trailabike thing.
I imagine it would be an awesome way to go for rides, as both riders start on their own bikes, and if the kid gets tired, just take off the front wheel, clamp it to the trailabike, and tow them home...
Do any of you know who makes this? Could it have been a DIY job?
Thanks!
josh.
iirc, there's someone that actually makes a wheel-to-wheel attachment to hook up a full bike to the back of another. I can't remember who makes it tho'. Having the attachment low down (vs a high seatpost mount like a trailabike) I would think makes for a more stable ride.

I think you may be describing a Trail-Gator (http://www.trail-gator.com/). They get mixed reviews IIRC. Preference seems to be more in favor of a dedicated TAB.
Do a search in the forums on "trail gator". A few threads on them.

this is close to what i saw, but the front wheel of the back bike was definitely removed and attached to the arm somehow.
i could see how this got mixed reviews...
and as for getting a dedicated TAB, this allows the kid to ride their own bike until they get tired, and then it's a tow ride home...
No, the one I'm thinking of was a wheel-to-wheel connection down low, rather than attaching to the seatpost like a TAB... *keeps looking*
This (http://www.followme-tandem.com/english/index.htm) is it. Unfortunately, it appears to only be available in Europe. :(

that one looks awesome (don't have to remove front wheel, attaches at rear wheel instead of seat), but still is not the one i saw...
the one i saw had the long trail-a-bike arm that arches up and attaches under the seat...
