Hi folks, anyone ridin' around the Mohawk Valley? New to the area, sort of new to bicycling for recreation. I do trips averaging about 25 miles a day right now, not too strenuous verticial shift but enough, really working on tone right now. Looking to increase stamina (not to mention proper gear) in the coming months to volunteer for this:
July 12-19, 2009 the 11th Annual, 8-day, 400-mile, Cycling the Erie Canal bike tour across New York State along the scenic and historic Erie Canal.
I've been on the Erie Canalway Trail now a few times, starting at fultonville going east and west, I really like it, will be exploring it more as time permits. Also would like to hear of any other great trails in the area from BF members. I have found Lapland Lake trails are not too far away from me geographically, but not much info as to if there are mt bike or road bike trails. Anyone have any intel on that area? Thanks in advance.
