hi, i'm a newbie, and i hope i'll always remain one; knowing to much can really be a hinderance. a little history then: my first cycling experience i can remember was on christmas day, oh lets say, 1952. santa gave me a trike and i took it outside to ride it on the sidewalk only to be broadsided by chuckie, the nextdoor neighbor, on his brandnew x-mas trike. you would think that would have soured my interest in bikes, but alas, you would be wrong. i won't waste your time with the joyous and sometimes sorrid affairs i've had with bikes between then and now, but i have come by way of these various experiences to believe that the bicycle is the most beautiful contribution of the industrial revolution .gandhi may have wanted the sewing machine to be the national symbol for india, but for me, hands down, its the bike. fast foward to about six years ago: picked up a schwinn le tour left behind in house i moved into and started to ride again. graduated to a beautiful marin vicenza road bike; divorced it for the world of recumbency and have since moved in with a fisher 29er hybrid. so in summation i will say this: speed kills, comfort is not enough, its been a slice, and keep pedalin.
