There are huge advantages to using Ostar emitters so we built another new series of lights. The guts are from the first Ostar light, the Super Flashlight V but the new ones, the 15-3 (15W, 3-cells), are only the size of a Mini-Maglite. I’d say the output is twice the P7. Although we made it look like Surefire L4’s or L2 they are all new with the exception of the windows and very modified KL4 heads.

• 3-cell custom-body & custom tail-cap, aircraft grade alloy
• Small, 27.4 mm diameter X 164mm long, pocket light
• Dry weight- 2.9 oz., 83 g.
• Click tail-cap switch for on/off, push to change modes
• 1000+ lumen Osram Ostar
• Specially made DC-DC converter with four brightness levels
• Powered by 3xCR123A, 3xRCR123, 2xAA lithium, or 2xAA alkaline
• Hard anodized black or natural
• Titanium clip
• Designed to lock batteries in place so no accidental mode changes
• Potted LED and silicon O-ring sealed (waterproof, but not for diving use)
• Protected tail-cap also used for stand-up mode
• Will work perfectly with Surefire L4 body (2xCR123A) body to make smaller hosts

Using CR123A size batteries give full power and 4-modes. Energizer lithium’s AA’s give 150 lumens and 2-modes. Alkaline’s give 100 lumens and lowest mode for 5.5 hours. The lumen numbers are out the nose. Ostar lights are very gentle to even old batteries. Science and physics prove the value of using the high-tech Ostar and I think we are showing the advantages well with the 15-3’s.

From the first owner-

Firstly I am going to admit to being an absolute idiot. I was so anxious to try it out I loaded it with 3 "fresh" batteries I had on hand.

Well I was absolutely amazed. The beam is a fantastic white out of light. I tried it from the bedroom window and it lit up the whole garden. That has always been my test. Those throw monsters have a great wow factor, but for someone who uses a light every day I want to be able to see what is around me. And this light performs. I compared it to a trusty overachieving U2 and it wiped the floor with it.

I was thrilled. Then I remembered that it had higher levels and that Mike set it to the lowest. I searched the site but could only find a mention of this. I thought I must be mistaken. So after flicking on and off forever I realized I was right. I wrote a quick email to Mike and asked if I recalled correctly. He confirmed that there were other levels. THEN IT DAWNED ON ME. The batteries I had put in were nearly dead. OMG I had just lit the whole garden on flattish batteries.

I put fresh ones in.......and clicked away. On the highest level it not only lit the garden, but the next doors and the field at the side of me. 44 Acres lit up by one torch. Foxes, owls and a muntjac deer all shocked by being thrown into day light. I really am not exaggerating, this is the most special yet.

It has the quality of both throw and spill. A perfect balance.

Mike you have surpassed yourself. In the email he stated that he was most proud of this light. Well for those that have one coming, you are in for quite a surprise.

The build quality is perfect. Clean and understated. There is nothing flashy. No, chrome, nickel, Ti plated, polished, anodized, rainbow, glitz/ It looks like a KL4 on a slightly longer body. That is until you turn it on...then you really do own the night.

.......you have every right to be proud. There is nothing that can beat it.
