View Full Version : If you hear a yell, it was just me dealing with the $$##%%@**& weather
Things here in the Twin Cities have been shaping up really nice, the weather's been cooperating this week. Now, I look at the weather outlook for next week, suppose to get cold and snow, I guess the saving grace is it will be warm by next Saturday.
Here I've been beginning to get out of my winter clothing, and slowly pulling out the summer stuff, and I'm a bit early. I forget my favorite time of year, now, is also the most frustrating time of year.

we are in the dog days of winter my friend. this is when people get sick physically and pine away mentally.
stay the course and memorial day and nice weather will be with you soon.
Snowing here this morning! We were in the mid to upper 50's last week.
I feel your pain!
I have to remount my Nokians, man does this bite.

It's finally warmed up here, I hope it lasts a while this time. It's been back and forth from warm to snow for the last couple of months. I can't wait until spring is here for good.

I feel your pain and had to deal with my own pain. I went on a 70 mile ride on Saturday. Halfway through the trip the temps dropped and it started to rain, which lasted for almost the rest of my ride. I was wet and cold and to make things worse my toes went numb. It took nearly two hours after my ride before I got complete feeling back in them. Woke up on Sunday only to find it snowed most the night. This winter is really testing my riding spirits.

I feel your pain. After finally getting some warm weather, it looks like the rain and cold is starting to set in. From winter to spring in three days. Time to find my fenders.

you know? I think the doom and gloom cloudy weather has been getting me more then the winter/spring thing... (sigh)
More grumbling. It snowed last night, and I got to ride home in it. I can't decide if I want to mount the Nokians or not for the ride to work. This bites.
I rode home in a snow storm, see my post in commuting. It was a lot of fun! I relish riding in this weather. I just wish I'd been prepared for it. Will be today, and stay that way until Labor Day.

Yesterday we had highs in the 50's, last night we picked up 6" of snow, and highs today just above freezing. I dont care if its 20F, 30F, or 50F, just have the weather stay the same for more then two days in a row!

Yep, I agree! We are all getting a bit on the silly side. Must be spring fever.
Shouldn't it be read it and REAP?
Argh, winter still wants to hold on here in the Twin Cities. Tonight's commute was wind and icy paths and roads. At least they were wrong about the snow, as I write this it's 3am and suppose to be snowing. I'm hoping that means the 4F on Thursday is out too!
Just so you know I can't blame you for this one, N7CZinMT. Tonight is getting down to 7F, with a wind at about 23 mph, but there's 3 inches of snow in the forcast that will fall while I'm in work. You said nothing about this 3 days ago!
I really tried to send ya'll that 60 degree weather. :)

On wunderground.com, I noticed that the record low for 3/9 was just last year, in our tropical paridise: -10F. Just to remind y'all what this place is capable of producing. Then, that might be prefferable to the sleet that is coming down now, an hour and a half before I leave for work.
Frankly, I have enjoyed the snow that was dumped on us. I rode through a heavy fall, not worrying that I would slip on hidden ice, two days ago. We got a few inches, and you'd never know that we got any the next day.
In response to my positive mood, the weather has gotten worse in the past few minutes. There is now a moderate rain, which will likely freeze as I ride in to work, and coat all sufaces in a hard slippery shell for my ride home at midnight.
$$##%%@**& weather!
It's hailing! Boy this ought to be a fun ride to work!

All this nagging.... You southerners have one big problem: you are living at the wrong side of the Atlantic. Up here in 60 degrees north we have 5C and sunshine today. We had 10 cm snow on Saturday, but it's all melting and finding its way to the nearest fjort right now. Spring is in the air! :)

The funny thing with the weather here this time of year is that if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes and it will be different. :D
