How about a more potent ignore feature?

The current ignore only hides the idiot poster's posts, but allows them to be seen via reply. How about something that completely quarantines said idiot's ramblings? Something that will not only block the vapid stupidity that comes from one on the quarantine list, but also blocks subsequent replies containing idiot's drivel.

And then one additional step would be to highlight any thread that brain-damaged moron has posted to in red text, so that you can't be fooled into letting his or her stupid infect your otherwise healthy, normal flow of thoughts.

One more nice option would be to completely hide any thread that the drooling wonder has authored.

I have no idea what it would take to code something like that, so here's to wishful thinking.

Thanks for reading.

Why not just put on a set of blinders with a tin foil hat so you can't be exposed to the evil doer's electrons?

Have you priced tin foil hats lately? They've really gone up in price the last couple of weeks.

A common misconception. Tinfoil makes an excellent conductor and wouldn't impede the transmission of electrons in the slightest. I have a rubber hat that I wear, but it doesn't seem to work. This makes me suspect that another medium of infiltration is being used. But that's not the topic of discussion. Quit trying to distract me.

The best method I've found is to simply disregard the posts of people I wish to ignore. Self control is a very powerful tool, and much more effective than any software.

True enough. However, I tend to read through a thread without looking at who is posting what. It's like waking through a minefield of stupid while wearing a blindfold. I guess I should just exercise more self-discipline.

Putting anyone on ignore would remove half the entertainment value of BFs! This thread is a case in point.

BUT I WANT IT FOR FREE!!!
(and it better integrate seamlessly with my rubber hat and narrow anal orifice.)

Yeah, and be a part of a resounding corporate success that has people lined up in a queue three blocks long wanting to be a part of the action.

Well...nobody paid for anything and this was ignored almost two weeks, if that helps?
