I was looking over the Seagull Century's accommodations page and saw the option for crashing on the Salvation Army's "gymnasium" floor. Have any of you ever done this; if so what was it like? The rate is dirt cheap, making it seem like an attractive option. Thanks.

I've camped at the Salv Army field and given that the hotel rooms are all gone will probably do again, or maybe get a room further afield.

There is NOTHING attractive about slleping on a gym floor except that its, 1) cheap, 2) possibly the only available space for miles for that night, 3) convenient to the start, 4) did I say cheap???
Should be fun nonetheless. Get a good carb meal in Friday and you'll sllep so soundly you'll hardly notice the sounds or smells around you.

There's a new Hampton inn in Fruitland within a couple miles of the University, give them a shot.

Yep, that's the main appeal for me...especially since even the most "budget" motels I've looked into in that area go for at least $100 a night.
