Out of curiosity, what does that plastic wheel attached to the hub on the back wheel do?

It's intended to prevent your cahin from hitting the spokes when the derailieur is improperly adjusted Keep the adjustments right and you don't need it. However don't let Danka's nephew(?) get P.O'ed and "adjust" your bike

It's a story Danka shared with us a while back, about his 6-year-old nephew (I think the kid was 6, right?) who went into a rage and kicked Danka's bike and did a disproportionate amount of damage. No word on where he buried the body... :D

There is no love lost between me and what I affectionately call "Dork Discs". Nothing drives me crazier than to see a sweet $4000 + bike with a Dork disc on it.

If your derailleur is adjusted properly, you don't need it. It's one of those, CYA things on your bike as a result of stupid people with no self responsibility and a bunch of lawers.

First thing I had the lbs do when I bought my bike has have it taken off. Killed the look of the bike having it there, just never knew what they were for.
