Shopping for my first road bike. I usually ride the paved bike trails on my 2000 Trek 6000 MTB.

Still shopping by spec....I might be tempted by going with a bike at the level of a 1200 instead....the value darkhorse.

Is there any real difference the frames? on the 2000, they hype it up more.

They both seem fairly similar so it's tough to call.

I love Trek, I own Trek and I will not try to talk you out of Trek. But before you buy either of those, have look at this:

I didn't buy the Douglas cause I couldn't test ride it, but it helped force me to wait until I could find the very best deal on the Trek I wanted.
