Test rode a few bikes and fell in love with the Felt. You'd have to know me to understand this, but in typical fashion something had to go wrong after I bought it and went off for a decent ride by which time the shop was shut. The front derailleur went haywire and now won't move over far enough to move from the 39 to the 53 - just makes a nice grating sound. Blah! Nothing the LBS won't fix, but a bummer nonetheless. Still, she's a rocket and after a tune-up will be fine ... I hope! I'm looking foreward to a long summer.

Thanks to all who proffered advice while I was looking.

You are experiencing initial cable stretch. There should be a barrel adjuster along the shifter cable, unscrew that until it shifts into the big ring.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.
