Did you know that cats were evil? Hold them up to the mirror. I bet you they don't look at the "other cat" in the mirror. They just don't. They can't see themselves. Just like how vampires can't see themselves. Even if you hold their face, you won't see them looking at the eyes. Yep. Evil.
Try it.

They can't see themselves.Somewhere a grammar teacher is rolling over in his/her grave. :p :twitchy:
I remember reading a cat owner;s book once that said if your cat does look at themselves (they slefs? their selves?) it is a sign of intelligence.
we have two (dumb and dumber); oddly it is the dumber of the two that looks at himself, watches tv, etc.
In fact not so sure now why we thought the other guy was smarter....he does play the piano to let us know he's hungry, fwtw.
they rely on their sense of smell and hearing more than they do their sight when just checking out other cats.
My cat likes to claw at my screen when my mouse pointer moves. :)
My cat likes to crawl under the bed sheets if there is a nice hole there :D

oh, I tried it, he's a bit narcissistic now so I had to put cardboard over the mirrors in my room just so he would stop hanging out here.

we've done this with our cats - but with very odd results.
they don't seem to care about their own image at all. but i can stand behind\beside them and they will look into the mirror, see my reflection, and make eye contact through the mirror. it's pretty cool actually.
All I could find was the little kitteh sleeping on my sunny window sill, so I scooped him up and hung like a wet noodle in front of the mirror, he purred and then slept. :(

My cats Chester and Twinkle are not evil. They are merely annoying. And they shed quite a bit. They're actually very adorable.
I didn't name 'Twinkle', so don't go there.

My cat is named Chester.
Perhaps we have more in common than we think, Pcad.
As for evil cats:
My mother says she used to cut the whiskers off of the family cat with a pair of scissors when she was 8 or 9 years old.
The cat would have a hard time walking through doorways or near furniture. Something to consider.

I disagree and I have proof!
My eldest kitty, Cinder:

This is my new stray, Foxchow.
He gets irritated when the fox watches him.

I put my kitty in front of the mirror and had to hold Her head to look straight at the mirror and she only looked very annoyed, till I let her go.

See? They won't look if you hold them there.
The videos above show cats doing it on their own. But if you hold them to it, they disappear!

All cats are evil, no matter how cute they are. Just remember, they are all plotting to kill you...
Oh yeah, Siu, I've done that before, and I've noticed they can't see themselves in the mirror...

The siamese would not look in the mirror at all. The orange tabby would look in the mirror, but not at himself.

Ahhh. More proof! Thank you.
My cat watches Animal Planet and anyone that watches that channel cannot be evil. And he is pretty dopey - if he was smarter he might be evil. He is kind of like Garfield: fat, lazy, orange, though I suppose Garfield is evil...

I so enjoy your posts every time Siu... muy divertidos... but you dont need to do the mirror test to know that cats are evil, my two daughters tell me everyday, several times a day, the evil lore behind the feline world.... And they prove it everytime... if you chase someone and does not have anything to hide they would not run away... They both keep running after cats and they run away... a bark just does not do it!!
By the way a look alike of my girl is under my name...
