Hey i'm new to the forums, and not really new to mountain biking i've been doing it for years just not that up to date with equipment and and such. I finally upgraded from an old costco bike to a trek 3 series hardtail this summer. Unfortuantely It was also recently stolen. I need to replace it and was looking at different options. What do you guys think of diamond backs, anyone know anything about the 08 response sport. The price range seemed around the trek 3 series I had but it comes with disc brakes. I was wondering how well the components will hold up. What about Gary fisher, do they have any options around this level. Appreciate anyones opinions as i dont get the chance to ride many different bikes. Thanks

At that price range, almost all the bikes will be comparable...it comes down to which one feels the best to you. Cheap disc brakes often do not work any better than the average linear pull brakes...
