Hi all

do any of you women use the brooks b17? I was thinking of getting one for my wife, or would the women-specific finesse be better? anybody have any experience?

thanks
jeff

I have a women's Specialized seat. I've tried the Terry brands with the middle seat cut out. They were VERY uncomfortable for me. It was like your tendons in your inner thighs were holding you up rather than your butt.

But I like my Specialized seat.

I don't have experience with the Brooks saddles, though you'll find many fans of them on this site. I happen to really like the Terry Butterfly, but then, every butt is different. Your wife may end up test-riding a few in order to find the right one for her. Good luck. :)

Hi,
I bought a used Finesse on Ebay yesterday. If you're not in a hurry, I can tell you if she likes it...or if she removes me head at the ankles.

Got it for my Terry bike and it didn't really need much of a "break-in" period. I felt pretty comfortable right away and it's only getting better as time passes.

Hi,
well, we got the saddle. The first ride was yesterday, it was only about 8 miles due to the cold and windy conditions. She said she didn't notice the saddle. Since she has had at least a minor complaint on the seversl saddles I have previously put on her bike....I am allowing myself a twinge of optimism.
