Working to lose some weight and would like to know the thinking on when to eat after a ride to maximize fat loss. Eat right away? Wait? If so, how long?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter when you eat from a fat loss perspective. From a performance perspective, you will more efficiently replace glycogen stores in muscle if you eat right after a workout. I figure better performance=longer faster ride next time=ultimately more calories burned=best fat loss.

I wondered about that. The alternative is less glycogen = burn more fat on the next ride (even though feeling like a dead man riding).

They say the "magic" window is 1 hour. Within that time the body will utilize more of the food to repair muscle damage which will help recovery and allow the body to not store quite so much.
