Texas - Meet and Greet Wed the 24th Far North Dallas

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For the nocturnals (or those who love them) let's meet at the Starbucks on the SE corner of Campbell and Coit Road on Wednesday the 24th at 9:30pm. Technically that might be Richardson and not Dallas.
Click here for map (http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&q=coit+and+campbell+dallas&ll=32.979112,-96.768222&spn=0.00828,0.013733&z=16)
We do do a leisurely loop around UTD and maybe hit the Renner path that goes out to 75. I have never ridden that, I'm going to go do that right after i post this actually.
Anyhow, everyone is invited and I have yet to meet anyone from the forum yet there are several folks in the neighborhood. Drop by, say hello, have a decaf (at least at that hour) and ride a bit.
I'll be on my new spiffy Trek FX 7.2
Chris
I will be there on either a Trek 1200 or a black Falcon. Probably in a BF Texas jersey.

Right on! Bring your hula-hoop too and I'll bring mine. We'll dazzle any dames that show up!
Seriously though, glad you're coming and you won't be able to miss me, I always wear a glow in the dark jersey.
Chris
Sounds like a plan to me. I'll ride over on the Gazelle. :)

Ok call me stupid but I just realized I will not be back in town Wednesday night. Doh!
Y'all can go without me or we can pick another night the following week.
Sorry to be so dense :-)

Hey, cuda... remind me next Wednesday so I don't forget!
I am fine with a reschedule. If anyone does wanna meet up for a casual ride still, I am game for that too.
So is this on or off for tomorrow? Anyone coming?

I'll be mtn. biking in Grapevine, if no one is meeting you guys, you could meet us.
My cousin and his roomate purchased mountain bikes a couple of months ago, and I am meeting them at Grapevine (Rockledge) at around 6 to knock out a few miles and get them familiar with the trail. Anyone is welcome to ride with us. I have no idea how fast or slow my cousin/his roomate are.
I'm wondering the same as jsharr. 9:30 is well past sundown these days, later than my opimal riding time in the evening. I've got a light, but not the greatest.
Looks like no one is going, as no one has replied. Will check this one more time before I leave for my evening ride.

Well NEXT time I'll make sure I'm going to be in town before I announce a meet and great. Honest, cross my heart :-)
Dude, no worries. I miss more rides than I make. Almost rode up there on my ride last night, but instead just stayed in the hood and got in some miles.

Is the Leisurely Loop around UTD on roads or bike paths? I remember seeing a wide sidewalk along Campbell, but wasn't sure if that was a bike path or sidewalk or what. And how was the Renner path?
...maybe hit the Renner path that goes out to 75.
Classic thru path traffic placed to the right of right turning street traffic. Watch out you don't get right hooked.

Hey I'll be at Starbucks at Campbell and Coit tonight between 9:15-9:30.
The path along canpmbell is a bike path, not a typical sidewalk. That's what I ride all along the UTD stretch. The Renner path is the same.
