I fretted for a couple of weeks over how to best carry a pizza on my bike. I thought I'd share my homemade solution.

I purchased a pre-cut piece of pegboard from home depot (20 in x 20 in). Along the middle of each side I installed an eyebolt with matching nut/washer on the bottom. The pizza goes into a custom made insulated sleeve (a whole foods insulated grocery bag, cut up and re-sewn the correct shape), and is secured with a cargo net.

My only issue left to solve is how to best secure it to a bike rack. I'm currently attaching with zip-ties (as seen in the last picture). I'd like a more permanent solution that would allow for easy installation/removal (no tools required). Any suggestions?

U-bolts

put the loop around the rack and stick the bolts through the holed board.
You could secure with wingnuts if you want to install without tools.

They sell nylon bolts and wingnuts at Lowes, you might could use those.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. ^This^ is what I'd do.

If you can't find small enough u-bolts you can fake it with the U section of cable clamps.

All the u-bolts at the hardware store were too tall - it looks like I need to track down the cable clamps. Are those easy to find?

My hardware store has some. Never bought them there, so I don't know how big a selection. (I've always bought them from the crane supply store...) You could also look at mcmaster-carr's catalog (or your favorite industrial supplier, if you've got one)

How about bungee cords or velcro cable ties? They're simpler to use, won't rust, and hold fast.

With your peg board, you don't have to use a complete U bolt, you just need the plate, use two standard button head screws and wingnuts, I would use lock nuts with the wingnuts.
Drop the screws in from the top so your bag can lay flat.

Ace hardware is the place to go for hardware, they rock.

Why do you need all this equipment, just carry it in your stomach :)
