I have a garage full of vintage road bikes that I rotate so that no-one's feelings get hurt.

This morning (annual New Years Day ride) was a 1974 Schwinn Speedster. It was mine since I was a kid and it still knows where I want to go.

I have a 2000 GT i-drive with full XTR,and a SID
a 1999 Klein Quantum Race that I just bought new(it was a left over)
a GT Karakoram street cruiser that I built and
a 2001 Schwinn Homegrown that I am currently building now for the 2002 race season.

and I am always on the lookout for another trusty steed to add to the fleet. I am looking for a early 90's roadie to use as my winter beater right now.:p

When I'm commuting I ride my old road bike that I converted to a commuter. It is a 1999 Raleigh R600.
On the weekends, group rides, and organized rides, I ride my 2001 Litespeed Tuscany, full Ultegra and Look pedals.

I ride my late 80's vintage Trek 770 (http://tc-homes.com/bike/forum/fg-bikes/andycarpenter.htm) converted to fixed-gear as my commuter. Great fun and good for the spin. On the weekends and evening training rides I ride my Litespeed Classic, with full Ultegra 9-speed, Speedplay pedals, and Mavic Ksyrium wheelset. I also ride a Cannondale mountain bike when the need arises and a Cannondale MT1000 tandem when my wife is in the mood for a fun ride.

Hmmm?? Maybe I have too many bikes or is that really possible?

I'm also half of a tandem team with a Cannondale RT3000, my better half is the other half of the team! :)

The number and types of bike I own keeps changing, but at the moment:

* '01 Schwinn Fastback Factory w/Ultegra and Mavic Ksyriums (or Velomax Circuit Comps, when I'm in the mood)
* '97? Gary Fischer Aquila w/ Manitou SX-E fork and a random mish-mash of parts that is in the process of much needed upgrading
* two '70s-ish Schwinn Varsity 10-speeds that aren't very pretty, but make great winter bikes
* fixed-gear made from a random assortment of parts that I found lying around

These don't really count, but they're worth mentioning:

* old Huffy from when I was a kid, that fits perfectly in the trunk of my car for when I drive to school and have to park a mile away (in the interest of saving my knees, I made the addition of an 18 inch seatpost, so I look really stupid riding it)
* old 'chopper' bike - perfectly impractical, but still lots of fun

The next addition will probably be a Salsa La Cruz cyclocross frame. I finally have the money, now I just need to find a way to justify spending it.

Almost all of my riding is done on my full Ultegra equipped Schwinn Paramount. For the winter, the Fuji Roubaix is mounted on my trainer. My Fuji Sagres is parked in the garage, and will soon be joined by a Schwinn Le Tour and a Nishiki Japanese bike with a really beautiful steel lugged frame that I just picked up at a garage sale today! What a nice way to start the new year, adding to my stable!

Cheers...Gary

P.S. Mine is the yellow one. :D

Primary commuter - 2000 Giant Cypress hybrid upgraded to road/'cross setup with 9-speed 105 group.

Secondary commuter/weekend sporter - Late 80's Bianchi Brava upgraded to 9-speed Dura Ace shifters/ders.

New just assembled, as yet unridden Tange Ultimate Prestige steel frame, brand unknown. Set up as single speed for the time being to confirm frame fit. Future as yet undetermined. Fixed gear?

In the wings (or rafters) - Early 80s Schwinn Voyageur touring bike awaiting overhaul.

Ohhh... I'm supposed to list my other bikes as well!

Okay... in addition to the Marinoni, there's a 1997 Specialized S-Works M2 MTB [XTR, Manitou SX-Ti fork] and a 1992 Specialized Rockhopper Sport. The latter is set-up with 1.25" slicks and I use it as my city bike.

For recreational rides, an '02 Lemond Buenos Aires. For wet weather, boardwalk rides, and family outings, an indestructible 70's Ross lugged hybrid-like bike. The Ross is currently disassembled on the basement floor getting a complete rehab.

a real frankenbike. a cavalera (altec2) http://www.stc.it/cavalera/home.htm

with a look lds fork, mix of campy, shimano, rolf front and (now) shamal rear,
with the much maligned (but not by me) cinelli integralter with space girl pin-up.

and am giving life to my old montagner steel by making it a fixie (can't wait).

sorry, should have mentioned that the crankset is from FSA as even i, who has squandered so much $$$'s on bikes over the years (as we all have), could never justify the asking price of a campy carbon crank.

and sorry but the photo is distorted as the lens i used was a very wide angle but i have a pic of the frame with a normal perspective. picked it up on ebay after it failed to meet a very low reserve. for once i gambled and won.

Hey roadiegal: What color is your Karakoram frame? The reason I ask is, I recently built a commuter type bike on one of those frames that I bought of E bay, and I have no idea what year it is. I thought maybe if yours was the same color I would know it is a '96. I think it is around that era any way.
Thanks

current ride is an 85 Trek 670, all original except saddle and tires.
Have a steel serotta in the wings waiting for components (think
campy here) and searching for a Zeileman frame (or complete, it doesn't matter) for future build.
Don't have camera for pics, I spent all my money on audio & bike parts. :D

Wow, and I thought I loved my bikes. I don't have pictures of them......hmmm will have to do something about that.

Anyway:

MTN: GT Aggressor, with road slicks and a lovely pair of reverse tread tires. Standard package of shimano shifters and brakes, but with toe clips on the pedals.

Road: Trek 2000WSD (43 cm frame) (I am a shrimp), with the standard package, except for a lovely pair of look pedals.

Wow, lots of neat bikes. I don't have pictures to post as of yet...

A 90s vintage Colnago Gilco Master (not XLite) in red and chrome built up with a mix of Record and Chorus Ergo 8. I'm not sure of the year of the frame but I picked it up NOS from eBay last year.

An 80s Basso in Columbus SL. It also was an eBayer and on Campy-Only I found a guy selling a S Record gruppo including built wheels (Moskva 80s) for a very reasonable price. That and a DA freewheel and it rides every bit as smoothly as the Colnago above. Well, I changed over to dual pivot Record brakes. Sprayed it in blue found some decals NOS and repop and she's my baby.

A 2000 Univega Modo ? (the black and white one). Kind of heavy but smooth and stable. I can throw it in my trunk w/o being paranoid about the finish. Campy Triple. Mostly Mirage and some Veloce. It'll probably become a Veloce double as even my sorry butt doesn't need a triple in Fla.

Etc. A fixed gearthat is part 70s Schwinn LeTour and part nearly everything else under the sun and the 85-86 Cannondale SR 600 I rode while in college. I still think the Seasprite Green was Cdale's best color.

Saninno Road Frame with mixture of 3 or 4 types of Campy Record stuff including 8 spd ergo '93?

Older Sannino Frame I wore out, mainly form abuse, set up as fixed gear to work on my form, technique and spin '86?
( Yes, I REALLY like Saninnos)

( Alberto) Masi Prestige Road Frame w/Campy 50th annv gruppo 83?

Gitane Tour De France w/mostly Campy NR (Huret RD, french dropout) '72

Trek 520 Suntour drivetrain Campy wheel upgrade early/mid '80s
(my mud bike)

Schwinn Spitfire double bar cruiser w/ studded tires '52?

Schwinn triple bar cruiser, it's a project bike. I'm turning it into an all Campy single speed cruiser- BMX hubs and cranks, mtn brakes, Gran Prix pedals

Fat Chance mtn w/Sun Tour Gruppo late 80's

Schwinn Speedster- vintage unknown

and an inexpensive Raleigh 26" X 27" wheel road and an entry level Bianchi road for others to ride
and a couple of others I was given, I'll probably pass on to someone else.

I think that's all

Ride As Many AS You Can

The bike is a bright, fire engine red. The frame is steel. I love the bike. It's too bad that GT doesn't make steel frames anymore.
