I have a generous friend who loaned me an older (early 90s) Cannondale R400 as a wet weather/early season bike. I would like to put fenders on it to limit the salt damage to his bike (and me) as I ride on the roads up here (New Hampshire). Does anyone have recommendations for fenders that will fit this type of bike? It has eyelets in the rear for fenders, but I did not notice the fork mounts (I just got the bike last night). Thanks in advance for your advice.

I just got me the Planet Bike fenders, they're pretty cool looking, I love the little mud flaps!
Comes pre-assembled, I'm gonna paint mine to match my bike's color.

I have both the Planet Bike Freddy Fenders and Rhode Gear fenders on 2 MTB's. The Planet Bike Freddy's are the best!!!! You can leave them the nice shiney black colour they come in, looks good with any colour.

Mine are Titanium color, so it doesn't really match the candy red on my Volpe, so I'll paint them either blue or perhaps the same red color of the bike. I just want to get out of the "montony" of black.

Yeah i got the MTA (?) rear fender from REI---its like $8--and ive found in my type of weather little rain, no snow or ice, that a rear is all thats needed. Its working well for me.

ps i just got a pair of the zefal road fenders off of ebay to try them out cause they were at a good price.
I really like my SKS fenders...
Another vote for Planet Bike fenders. I have a black set on my commuter and just ordered a yellow set for my wife's commuter bike.

Can you use a rear Planet Bike fender and a rack? Will they both fit?

Thanks for everyone's replies. I have looked around, and the planet bike fenders look great. I was concerned about clearance issues. The bike I want to mount them on is an old road bike. I can fit 32cm tires on the frame with a little bit of clearance under the brakes and chainstays. I was wondering if anyone had experience fitting fenders on a frame like this. There are no fender eyelets on the front fork, but I thought I would use zip ties like this:

Thanks again
