Road Cycling - On the road again!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Got back out on the road up here yesterday for the first time since December!!
9.2 miles and a very nasty hill... I thought my calves were gonna 'splode!
Lots of sand and water all over the place and I got a wet backside but it suuuure felt good (and it beats the heck out of riding rollers).
Anybody else out of hibernation yet?
no winter here....
but its so "hot" outside... Visited my uncle in the hospital, the H was full of people suffering from heat strokes... whew!
I feel my skin burn when I'm out.. but its ok... I found out that my water intake is almost double.. 2Liters for a 40km ride.. its about as much as I can take in. :D
It's nice to be out, ey?

The weather here has been over 40 degrees, so I have been back on the bike and got in 35 miles over a few days. I want to work my way up to 20 mile rides. More than one friend has told me I'm crazy.
Cold winds and fresh air beat dark boring basement and TV just about any day. I only spent about 2 hours (total) on the trainer this last winter.
One thing I've discovered riding this time of year is my lungs do not like the cold. When I'm done riding I wheeze like an accordion, I get a lot of phlegm as well.. Any of you have any idea what's up with that?
Got in 11 yesterday! (saw another biker too)
It's above 40 F here so I was out Fri, Sat, & Sun. Managed to rack up 80 mi. It got cold at the top of the hills. At one point I was on one of the 7-8 min killer climbs and decided to take to short cut down. Not because I was hurting that much, but I knew I would freeze on the long downhill along the ridge. Lots of salt and sand and crap on the road. But I must say there is nothing like riding a long with snowmobiles passing you on the shoulder. :-)

As long as it's above 40...I'm out there. Mostly 15-25 mile rides. The only time I've been on the trainer has been on the snow or rain days...which are often.
However, it was unusually GREAT today: 75 degrees, clear with a slow wind...rode 25 miles...found some new roads, also found some new ways NOT to go...still, anyday on the asphalt is a good day...
Hehe I finished my bike Saturday night and after todays ride have hit 200+ miles...muhahahah and I race Saturday (hopefully)

42F and getting colder during the ride (down to 37F), and winds of 15-25 mph, yesterday, but I got in 15 miles after work and before dark really hit!
And, I wore shorts with no leggings or tights!
'Twas invigorating, to say the least!
Now have about 740 outside and trainer miles so far this year!

It was overcast, cold and rainy here today so no pedaling for me. I did get in 12 miles yesterday. Tomorrow morning the temp is supposed to be over 50, then afternoon rains. I know where I'll be at 9AM
Too cold and wet to ride outside today (snow/rain).
I've got in 400 so far this year. It sure was tough re-setting the odometer on January 1st...
I almost didn't ride last night cuz I felt crappy then I got on here and read about Lances average speed of 30.4 on his TT, got all inspired, went downstairs and beat the snot out of my rollers. 12.5 miles at an average speed of 31 point something. How the heck do "those guys" keep it up for 200 mi. ?!
Superman I am not. I'm totally paying for it today. :(
