Hi all, newbie to the NorCal forum here.

I moved back to the Bay Area recently from Boston, and am looking for a club to ride with. I live in Burlingame right now, but will probably be moving up to the city.

I have no delusions of being fast; my average speed is around 10-12mph on mixed terrain, but I do enjoy challenging rides. I'd like a fun, social group, but also want to improve my skills and learn from the people I ride with.

Someone from work recommended Velogirls, and I'm going to try and join them on a group ride this weekend, but I have to admit I'm a bit turned off by all the pink. Any other suggestions?

Since your in Burlingame, I'd say check out PenVelo, they are a club & a race team. I do their Weekend ride a lot, and they are very cool people.

Too funny! I'm turned off by all the pink, too! Don't worry, wearing pink is not a requirement to come out and have some fun with Velo Girls. It's just a branding thing.......

Welcome back to the bay area! I look forward to seeing you on a ride sometime.

it's funny, we were driving up a street in Sunset and I see someone unloading a bike. The first thought I had was that pink jersey sure looks...oh yea, she's a velogirl.

If you're in SF, go check out Avenue cyclery on Stanyan. I've seen a little board that lists organized rides that starts from there.

After you move to the city you are only an hour to an hour and a half from Santa Rosa. We have many laid back rides here www.srcc.com

Our downtown is 55 miles by the shortest possible bike route from the GG Bridge.
