2002
Giant
OCR 2
$299

Found this while browsing at a Performance Bike shop.

When I started looking I set a $1000 limit. Which in a new bike in Lemond is a Tourmelet or a 1500 in Trek.

For $300, here is a Tiagra bike w/ steel fork. Didnt get a chance to ride it since it was already dark and it had clipless pedals on it.

Is this worth a second look?

Ironically, I rode an '03 OCR 2 last August before deciding to waiti until this year. Thought it was decent....but for the price, $800, thought I could do better.

if it fits i'd grab it. for a starter bike there can't possibly be a better deal than this.
you can upgrade a few things and still be in the $400 ballpark.

It's only a good deal if it fits you properly. So if it does, grab it!

Yep. Grab it if it fits. Not much nicer than a decent roadie for $200-300. You can get components, etc that you could transfer to a better bike later. Also don't have to worry about crashes, getting stolen, etc. Bought a $300 '00 Trek 2000 last year and have already put 1,000 miles on it. Thought I'd want to upgrade, but it's been so nice, I'm fine saving the $1,500 for a new roadie :D
