Road Bike Racing - help with off season choice

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Which of these two would be better for off-season training?
An entry-level cyclocross bike
or
A power-tap.
Opinions? There are three cross races a week here -- two informal ones on weeknights and one on saturdays.
CycloCross - the technique/skills will serve you well back on the road, plus you get to race through the winter pressure free
Then next year get the PT, if it still seems important enough

get the p-tap with cyclingpeaks and use them now to get training focused.

Power Tap. Cross is certainly good for conditioning, but you would mainly be doing base over the next few months and cross is not what I would call steady state training. PT can be used year round to help your performance and racing.
Niether. Get a fixed gear and ride it all winter.
I vote Powertap. You can figure out your weaknesses in the offseason and try to improve them through specific power training.
powertap. you'll need all winter to figure out how to use it properly.;)
