I picked up this jersey for $2 at a second hand store for my wife to use as "parts" for a jersey she was going to make for me. She said it was too ugly to touch her sewing machine. I kinda like it. It's theme is "Killer Bees" and it is lined.

I've got far too many ugly ones to post all the pictures....

And they are all just plain ol' cotton T shirts. Not a "jersey" among the lot!

I bought a Campagnolo jersey with a bunch of other badge name markings from a guy selling a bunch of stuff a few years back but I've been far too self concious to wear it.... someone might expect me to actually go fast if they see me wearing it....

Although if I had one of those "old fart" jerseys I'd wear it with pride and style..... :D

I personally think much of the overhyped Twin Six stuff is hideous.

All of my shirts are ugly. A friend of mine is just getting into cycling. We were riding one day and we stopped for a break. Out of the clear blue she said, "Yeah, I can't see myself every doing those shirts. Why are they all so ugly?"

I said, "So the cars that pass you notice you and say, "Wow! Look how ugly that shirt is!" If they notice you, they won't hit you."

She said, "Hmmmm. Still can't see me buying one."

I've been told this jersey is so ugly, and bright, it can be seen from space:

My inner Eyeore says, "I'm not so sure, little Pooh. You just might make a better target." (I say this as one who almost always wears hideous blaze orange).

i'm a little concerned about Historian (Neil) wearing a helmet for an indoor spin..... i am working on visions of falling off a machine... if you are clipped in and fall off a machine in a spinning class, does that still count for Club Tombay? maybe a special category? i mean... it would take a special talent to accomplish that, wouldn't it?

be well,

jim

Easily enough done and I have done it. Spinning bikes use Clips and straps and I thought I had loosened them off enough but I hadn't. Left foot out and put weight over to left and pulled on the right leg to get it over the saddle.

Club Tombay does apply in the gym aswell.

Well, now, I've got to try that. Working out among a bunch of 20-year-olds at the university gym, I've had my "geeky old guy" card stamped so many times in so many ways, but this would be a new one.

The helmet and gloves were worn as a joke. Someone bet me five dollars I wouldn't wear full riding gear in the gym.

It doesn't take a special talent as much as it takes having knocked knees and crooked feet. I fell off a spin bike in a class once. I bear-trapped my right leg, and had to go to the drug store nearby for bandages. This was the same class in which a complete stranger felt the need to ask me "what's wrong with your back?" I'd never felt so marginalized as a person with structural problems. Thank you for helping me to relive that day. :)

Note the net-nanny functions of Bike Forums won't let the photo appear because it has the word bustard (replace u with a) in the image url.
