Can anyone please help me identify this Cannondale just going by these small pics. I'm thinking about calling the seller first thing in the morning, but I would like some info ahead of time. Any insight you have might help. I'm just looking for a a recreational road bike for the winter, but I would like something decent.

Has the cantilever rear dropouts. Cannondale used that frame from about 1992 - 1996. Although I have heard of cracking at the seat stay to chain stay joint, I have never seen one. May be an old wive's tale but take a close look there.

That frame was quite popular with crit racers and is known to be a bit harsh to ride. If it is in good shape, has decent components, and if it fits you, the price seems about market value.

Frame has the cantilevered dropouts, so it's no earlier than 1989 (I think). Likely the 3.0 frame.

Sticker on the crank is Biopace, so I'll guess it's the mid-range 105 group. I'll guess 1989 SR600, though the color isn't right. You can search the 1989 catalog here: http://www.vintagecannondale.com/year/1989/1989.pdf

Nice solid bike. $200 in good condition is probably a fair market value (I've seen these particular Cannondale models sell higher). But I'd definitely start negotiations low and move up from there.

I rode a similar frame for a while. Light, very stiff (good for climbing) and very responsive. Some think the ride is too harsh, others like it.

I'm 6'3" and usually ride around a 60cm. It's hard to take a good guess at the frame size with the short wheel base. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I'll make a wild guess and say it's a 58cm (c-t). Maybe a little small for you, unless you like a big saddle to bar drop.
