Think it looks awesome. Would do very well on rail trails and maintained fire roads. Could easily throw some tiers with tred for rougher riding. Same reason I got my SE Stout. Slicks for the city, and some knobbys for the rail trails. Thinking about building my pugsley frame up again for same reason, but with HUGE knobbys for the snow.

The bike looks awesome!
I wouldn't however look forward to riding it with street gearing, especially with no brakes. Those 2x2.0's weigh a hell of a lot more than 700x23 slicks. I wouldn't want to try and stop with just the cranks, not in traffic anyway.
As for rail trails, meh ... It could be fun, but I bet a cross check with 700x38 cross tires and a properly set up bar would be better suited.
Still a hot bike.

I don't get the aggressive set up paired with huge tires But it looks nice if not functional.

Actually they're 700x42

I run Bontrager hard case (700X25c) road tires off-road all the time. No problems yet.
