I'm going to be in Nashville for a week and was wondering if anyone on here could clue me in on some places to ride while I am there. Thanks in advance.

The Shelby Greenway is really nice, and just off downtown, and connects to the Opryland area with a pedestrian bridge. Most of the bigger parks have trails, as well.

More on local greenways here: http://www.nashville.gov/greenways/

Generally, Nashville isn't very bike friendly. There are a few bike lanes here and there, but the city has only recently started working making it easier to get anywhere without a car. Public transportation is almost non-existent.

Road or off-road? There are a few singletrack-type trails in the area (Hamilton Creek Park, Lock 4, etc.) and various places to ride on-road, some low traffic (Percy Warner Park). The greenways makeitwork mentioned are good if you don't mind MUPs. Depends what part of town you want to ride from as well- if you're on the south side you might go to the Harpeth Bike Club website (http://harpethbikeclub.com/); they have a few mapped routes for the area immediately south of Nashville (Franklin, Williamson County).

the Natchez Trace parkway is a very nice place to ride... it's about 30min west of downtown depending on traffic. Plus, you can grab dinner at the Loveless Cafe and visit the Trace bike shop.

I know that this is late, but find that club that has the ride called "5 Hills from Hell". That is an awesome ride. Beautiful and physically challenging. But then again, I love to climb.
