WOW what a difference, We finally picked up the new Specialized Crosstrail Elites today, Mine in a 53 frame and the wife in a 49 frame, We went on a 20 mile ride as soon as we got home. Rode the exact same route we rode last sunday with our Xmart Schwinns, I can not believe the difference in the bikes. It is major, Last week we had an 8.9MPH aveage, and I was healthy that day, Today we completed the ride with a 10.9 MPH average adn I am riding with an ankle brace on since I incurred a severe sprain of my right ankle Wednesday at work.

We really love the ease of pedaling and shifting, the bikes are much more comfortable and so smooth riding, I know they are not 8500 dollar road bikes but after the Xmart schwinns they sure feel like it.

I will post some pictures as soon as I get some.

Many of us started on basic bikes and then progressed upwards. The first bike I had was not suitable for anything other than long flat roads where I could get up to 10mph and hold that speed. May have been me but that bike proved that cycling was for me. 18 years later and the bikes have changed- but the joy of riding hasn't.

Pics please.

Congratulations on the new bikes!

I also started on a department store bike and couldn't imagine the difference when I bought my Giant hybrid years ago. Enjoy the new bikes:)
