What's you opinions of this bike. It is a mix of Mirage (i think that's the right word) & Veloce...Mirage where it counts.
The bike is a 2003 and can be had for $600. I would not be able to ride it prior to purchase.. This alone dissuades me.
I took a parking lot test ride on one a few days ago. The bike seemed to be light and fast but was too small for me. Also, I'm looking for more of a touring bike.
My LBS said the bike lists for $1100. They are selling it for $700. It appears that you were given a good price.

mirage is a step down from veloce, in terms of quality. you'd want veloce where it counts.

I have a 1995 Campione D'Italia (later shortened to just Campione), with a full Mirage grouppo. I finally replaced the BB, cassette and chainrings after 15000 miles over 8 years, riding in all sorts of weather. The cassette was still okay, but I changed wheels and left the old cassette on the old rear as a backup. The BB was just starting to make the slightest grind in one spot, and I found one chipped tooth on the big ring. I paid $700 in 1995, so you are getting a huge deal. Go Campy and don't look back, but insist on riding it if possible. You need to make sure that it fits.
