Road Cycling - '03 Fuji Newest - Worth The $?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm looking at an '03 Fuji Newest (have it on layaway) and was wondering if it's worth the price at $459? This is in my price range and it has better components than the OCR 3 which I was also looking at. From what I've read this bike usually goes for around $700+. I haven't had a chance to test ride it which I'm hoping to do this weekend.
Any insight you can give is greatly appreciated.

I think that you were next to me at the Performance bicycle shop check out in Naperville yesterday. I was getting a new tube for my bike and a helmet. I have found the Performance people to be good to deal with. If you join their buyers club, you get a $10 coupon for every $100 you spend. That's how I got the helmet for free.
The Fuji looked good but I thought it was a little small for you. What frame size is it?

It's a good value bike at $459 (which is about the price I've seen them at the local Fuji dealers here). The only downside I see is the aluminum fork. The full Tiagra group will make it easy to upgrade anything later on if you want to, as it is all 9-speed compatible. Most of the 2004 bikes you'll find for that money will have Sora components, which are 8-speed thus making it hard to upgrade.
As always, the most important thing will be the fit. Have you ridden the bike? Is it comfortable? Even the best bargain bike in the world is a waste of money if it's too uncomfortable to ride.
Sorry, MrEWorm I don't think that was me. I was at the Naperville Performance but I was there on Saturday.
I did not get a chance to ride the bike yet. I'm hoping to do that this weekend. I didn't have time last week to test ride.
The one I'm looking at is 58cm and is actually a little tall for me. However, when I sit on the bike if feels good. I have shorter legs and a longer torso. My Motobecane is correct in height but I feel a little cramped when riding. I still love the Motobecane but being 30 years old it's almost impossible to upgrade and the components are very outdated.
I am a member of the Performance bike club and have a couple of $10 coupons in hand. I was thinking that with these and the ones I get from buying this bike I could use the coupons towards an upgrade to a carbon fork.
