Pictured above: the 1970's children's show "New Zoo Review" featured a character called "Mr. Dingle" (played by Chuck Woolery). Now THAT is one far out, freakadelic, Albert-Hoffman-would-love-it kinda bike there, Chucky. Appears to be a female model but man, I would so dig ridin' that baby in to work every day.

My music career and a few injuries last year occluded my cycling habit and I just sort of faded away from the bike thing. 'Course, when I do come back, you now know I'll be slapping everyone in the head with a hard hitting power post featuring forgotten children's shows.

Your inspiration, when offered, will add to the flavor of these chats.

Cute!

We need kids to enjoy bikes again. There is a huge drop off in them riding/commuting to school. Realize that that means parents are driving them to school. One way there, one way back. Double the gas. Sometimes, they make 4 trips a day--we do--because of basketball or other after school activities. Lots of traffic and congestion. Meanwhile, our kids are fatter than ever!

Could this change? I think so. We need a 2006 guy like that to inspire kids to bicycle.

You in Brookhaven, man?

You won't believe it, but one day I got off early from work and rode my bike straight up Piedmont to Peachtree, then turned right and rode all the way past Lenox, up towards the Chamblee station. Then I turned off P'tree Ind. onto a parallel sidestreet that goes past the station. I ended up in Dunwoody.

Did you see me ride by Brookaven Station? :D (j/k) funny thing, my son told me that night, "I saw you ride past Lenox."

Actually I moved to Clarkston recently, but I am quite familiar with where you rode. That parallel side street that takes you through Chamblee was a regular ride for me not only when I lived in Chamblee but after, just as an after-work relaxation ride. Riding P'Tree St. north, past Oglethorpe and such, can be a treacherous ride - I won't do it. That takes cajones grande .
