General Cycling Discussion - How Many Days Per Week are You on Bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I always feel guilty when i miss a day on the bike due to conflicts or weather. How often do you find yourself on a bicycle?
Sorry, this was supposed to have a poll but it didn't work.

Every day it doesn't rain or I'm not traveling. So I usually ride 6 days/week, if the weather cooperates.
I don't mind an occasional day off due to bad weather, but I do get antsy if I "lose" two days in a row.

I try to ride at least 5 days a week 6 if it's a good week.
4 days a week is all I can muster right now - 2 rides on the weekend and 2 "lunchers" during the week. I do spend a lot of time looking at the bikes though...

7 days a week, unless my family has something planned. I ride to school everyday and on saturday I usually ride around with my friends and sunday is my "serious" ride where I actually get some exercise.
5-7
I try to commute 5 days. (6.6 miles one way)
I also try to get in longer rides on the weekend. (roadie or MTB)

I try to get out 5-6 days per week whenever I'm not travelling. I usually take Monday as a day off, unless I'm feeling particularly energetic.
Always get in at least 1 decent ride on the weekend (25 miles +), 2 rides if I don't go skiing.
I commute 3-4 days per week when possible. When in town, almost always Tues-Thurs, and Fri if I'm not flying out the next week and can leave my laptop at work.

Everyday. If, for some reason, I miss a day, I start getting edgy and bad-tempered.
Just about every day. Many times not much more than the 10 miles required just to get to and from classes, but at least I'm on the bike. I still haven't quite got all the rain gear I need - rainy days tend to minimize my riding time.

Six or seven days a week. Usually six, the seventh is spent lazing around home and working on bikes... the weather should be nice this sunday, so I can work on bikes on the front porch. Ah, spring.

Wow. You all are on your bike a lot. I usually go on a long ride on Sat. (50-85 mi. depending on time of year) Short family ride on Sun. afternoon and one afternoon during the week (50-60 mi) depending on work/weather. These past three weeks, it's only been one day a week-I'm ready for Spring.

3-5 but I only ride about 2 miles roundtrip to work. :) I should be riding more. Oh well.
I guess I'll get this question out of the way since someone will eventually ask it? I hear it all of the time.... "Don't you work?"

3-4 days now. :D
5 days now and 6 during the racing season. I try not to get too bent out of shape if I miss a day avery few weeks. I take advantage and do something recovery related like chase my kid around the yard. Recovery is important too.

This time of year I try to ride at least three to four times per week for at least and hour and a half. When pulling my kid I settle for an hour.
I only get the opportunity to do long rides about once per week but have been lazy lately. 55 miles has been my longest ride this year but I was pulling the cart.

Well, I was doing about a ride a day of about 20-50 miles depending on the time I had. But then I got a temporary job formatting computers. So, for now It's only weekend rides for me. But the weather is getting better, and it's staying lighter longer so I'll be able to ride after work in a few weeks :)
4-6 depending on the weather and to some extent my schedule. I force myself to take at least one day a week off and I try for 2. I feel best if my schedule and the weather let me take wednesday and sunday off. My training schedule works out better that way too.

Well, I feel great if I can manage to get even two rides in a week. I'm such a slacker.

I would like to ride everyday.. My average with my work schedule! (12.5 hour shifts) 3-4 days a week..Usually 3 recreational rides and one commute to work..
Of course, I commute to work solely on PM shift. So figuring that, should one continous ride be consider two days ? Considering that, I might ride some weeks - 5 days?
I guess I'll get this question out of the way since someone will eventually ask it? I hear it all of the time.... "Don't you work?"
What does that question have to do with the number of days per week we cycle?
I ride anywhere from 5 to 7 days per week.
During the winter I might only ride 5 days because I like to take it a little bit easier.
Also on a week where I have a 400+ kilometer brevet, I'll often only ride 5 days so I have a bit of recovery time.
But otherwise I'll go a few months in the summer riding pretty much every day.
What does that question have to do with the number of days per week we cycle?
Well since the majority of people work at least 5 days per week, 8AM - 5 PM and considering that these are also basically the daylight hours in the winter around here. People naturally wonder how it is possible to ride every day.
I know that not everyone has these hours and many cycle in the dark but that hasn't stopped people from asking me that question about 2 dozen times this winter. ;) Also many ride to work. (like i did today--twice :p )
Of course they are often the same people who say, "aren't you afraid you are going to get run over?" Or they look at how trim i am and say, "you need to start eating more." :D (they are serious)

The same people who were wondering how I could ride in yesterday's cyclonic weather conditions, right? I actually work 8am-5pm 5 days/week myself. I commute daily and do extra-cirricular rides before or after work on those days. Generally I prefer to do so in the dark -- skin cancer risk lessens dramatically at that ime.
Or they look at how trim i am and say, "you need to start eating more." :D (they are serious)
That is, of course, until they see how much I actually do eat. At that point, they start calling me "human garbage disposal". :p
every day that i have a bike (need a new bike! something like an old trek 800)

When the weather breaks in the spring I ride 4 days 3/40mile up to 70mile rides and one 30mile before work.
Later,
