Classic & Vintage - Picked up a Fuji Palisade yesterday

Picked up this Fuji Palisade yesterday off CL. Ishiwata Feather Si 35 tubing. Shimano Exage everything: Motion front, Action rear der, Motion brakes and crank. Couldnt find much info on the Palisade. I did find quite a bit on the tubing though. this bike looks nice but it's not feather light!

Awesome find. Are you stem and bars all Nitto stuff? Mine were.

I once bought a Palisade from a thrift store for $80: it was brand new, still have the original sales tag on it (with the original price). I regrettably sold it when I was in a pinch. Here's a photo of mine, after I modified it for barcon (from stem) shifting and dumped the nasty foam "grips."

I bought a Fuji 'Palisade' at a yard sale for $35 back in 2000. Mine was a dead ringer of yours, including the paint. Had 27" 'Araya' aluminum rims with Shimano 'Exage' components. Also had 6-speed 'Indexed' shifters. Man I loved that bike. I put 1600 miles on it in six months, and it was that bike that really got me into cycling. I never weighed the bike, but to guesstimate I'd say it was at least 25 lbs.

I'm still kickin' myself in the ass for getting rid of it. It would've made a great commuter bike. The 'Palisade' is not top of the line, but its still a good bike, so you done well.

Ride that Fuji and give it everything it deserves.

That's a lot of riding in 6 months! Mine has Araya 27" too. Your guess is good - it's 27 lbs according to the brochure from T-Mar's link above. People seem to have such high opinions about Ishiwata tubing so I hope I can keep it. havent ridden it yet because the seller forgot or lost the front quick release - but it looks to be about 2 inches more than my size - we'll see...did you have fenders on yours?

No,...no fenders on that bike, but it did have frame eyelets for racks. It was a decent bike and I rode the hell out of it, making some of the longest rides I'd ever been on at that time. Like Everything I ever heard about Ishiwata tubing was all good, so no worries there. Gave the bike to my son and we made a 64 mile trip to my mom's with him riding it and it done great.

have almost the exact same bike (cream white, teal accents , all origional parts including vetta seat and suntour hardware but alas had to put replacement bar on it
