Touring - Online Bike Mapping that names roads by County Road AND "grid" system?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm trying to plot a route from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Marshall, Minnesota. Problem is my Minnesota bike map and my Gazeteer map names the roads using the county road system whereas bikely or Mapmyride shows the roads using the numbering system. So, for example, CR 7 on my paper map is 879th street or something using online maps. I need to be able to reconcile the two systems. Anyone have any ideas?

That's because most online mapping programs are just this side of a pile of dookey.
Here is the most accurate source of county road info -
The county maps published by the state of Minnesota.
My experience biking in Minnesota is that county roads always have the "CR 41" numbering -
Except in town limits where they become "Maple St." or similar.
Thanks jama, seems like a trip to MNDOT is in order. :) Those maps are pretty detailed.
